Video surfaces showing the fight leading up to the Chaka Zulu shooting

Surveillance video circulating online appears to show the moments leading up to the shooting that left a young man dead and Ludacris’ manager Chaka Zulu accused of murder.

Chaka Zulu, whose real name is Ahmed Obafemi, is facing murder, aggravated assault and simple battery charges stemming from the late June shooting outside a Buckhead mall on Peachtree Road.

The banks, as well as the person who posted a portion of the security video, are questioning why Chaka Zulu is accused of murder.

The video is slowed down and speeded up in parts by the person who posted it, but shows a confrontation. According to 911 calls, this happens before the shooting starts.

“It was a little fight or whatever and then we heard gunshots,” said a 911 caller.

The video is narrated by the person who posted it. The narrator claims that four men were waiting for Zulu, one of whom appears to be approaching Zulu. After a brief fight, the video shows Zulu being pushed and kicked by others.

After security gets involved, the video shows a man punching what appears to be a woman who helped break up the fight.

While this particular video shows a fight and then security interrupting it, it stopped short of showing what happens over the next few minutes, including when exactly the shooting took place.

In all, three men were shot, including Zulu, and all three were taken to hospital, where 23-year-old Artez Benton died.
