Now this”Do not worry, dear” is in theaters, will the drama surrounding this movie finally end? Unfortunately, the answer is no. Olivia Wilde and Shia LaBeouf may have resolved your flesh, and, no, Harry Styles did not spit Chris Pine At the movies Venice debut, but it seems the oldest rumor about “Don’t Worry Darling” still has legs.
Thanks to an anonymous source, Vulture reports that Florence Pugh and Wilde had a fight on the set of “Don’t Worry Darling” in January 2021. The source claimed that a “screaming fight” erupted between the actress and director about three-quarters of the way into production. And the reason? Pugh was fed up with Wilde’s repeated unexplained absences from the set. “Olivia and Harry would just disappear,” the source said. So it looks like the rumors of infidelity on set and Pugh and Wilde hating each other might be true after all.
The Vulture source also said that the fallout for Pugh and Wilde was so heated that it had to be dealt with at a higher level. Warner Bros.. executive at the time, Toby Emmerich. Emmerich apparently had to play the arbiter between the actress and her director in a “long negotiation process” that ensured Pugh was still a part of the film’s life cycle “in any case”. The main reason was not to compromise the film’s potential box office. So that explains Pugh’s absence from much of the “Don’t Worry Darling” promotion. The actress even showed up for the world premiere, but other than that, she did the absolute minimum.
Speaking of promotional duties, another source told Vulture that Warner Bros. are not very happy with the way Wilde has handled her. Their biggest qualm is how Wilde discussed LaBeouf’s departure from “Don’t Worry Darling”, bringing a lot of turbulent attention to the film. And another source close to the film told Vulture this gem: “Olivia is a mad genius who has figured out a way to make people more aware of the movie in a way that either only increases the box office or her not-awareness that she is fucking up her movie. .” Yes, a lot.
It was only a matter of time before what really happened between Pugh and Wilde on the set of “Don’t Worry Darling” was revealed. But given the whirlwind of gossip that has swirled around this movie over the past couple of months, it’s only fitting that this new one appears on the same day the movie hits theaters. Will this be the last anyone hears about all this? It is unlikely. But if “Don’t Worry Darling” has taught us anything recently, it’s that it will never stop being a hotbed of rumors and gossip.
