Ares Muse – The mystery deepens when a missing 2-year-old is found dead near the family home after disappearing while his parents slept.
Ares Muse reportedly disappeared from his family home in Okemah between 1:30 am and 6:30 am on Monday, September 12.
His parents said the boy crawled into bed with them during the night, according to Jim Parish of the Department of Security.

Muse’s father woke up around 6:30 am to find the child not there. He was last seen wearing black pajamas with colorful dinosaurs.
A search of several agencies lasted more than 12 hours as authorities tried to locate the boy.
Ares’ body was found around 6pm on Monday, more than half a mile from the house.

The cause of the child’s death was not immediately clarified. More than 20 agencies helped in the search for the boy, according to KTUL.

An official investigation is ongoing, but authorities have not yet ruled it criminal in nature.
The boy’s family is cooperating with law enforcement, according to Jason Salsman, a spokesman for the Muscogee Nation.
Salsman also said during a press conference that Ares allegedly managed to unlock three different locks to escape the house.
“We talked all day about wanting a good result, and we didn’t get it,” Salsman said.

“It’s unfortunate, but that doesn’t take away from the effort and the way we need to be present in our hearts and minds for this family.”
Eric Foster of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the agencies involved were at the tribal, local, state and federal levels.
“We hate to be able to deliver news like this, it’s very unfortunate. But we are together,” Foster said.
“And we’ve had a lot of citizens wanting to help, and this is just Oklahoma and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

Ares’ grandmother spoke to KOCO 5, saying the boy was “the pride and joy of the family.”
The grandmother added that she loved helping her father and dying of Easter eggs.
Other highlights of the boy’s life included his first bath and his first “big boy bed” as she described it for the exit.
A GoFundMe was started to support the family during this time.
Brandi Gaither, who claims to be the boy’s grandmother, organized the fundraiser and set a goal of $5,000.
More than R$1,200 has already been raised.
“I’m asking the family for help with funeral costs and anything they need help with,” the description reads.
