Ahmmed Kanneh Larweh was born on February 2, 1983, in Achimota, in the Greater Accra region of Ghana.
He obtained his early childhood, primary and secondary education from Rives Academy International School located in Achimota, Accra.
Ahmed completed his education at Junior High School (JHS) in 1998 and moved to the Ashanti region to continue his education at Asanteman Secondary School located in Suami and completed in 2001.
Ahmmed was pointed out by many of the people who knew him when he was just a boy as someone destined to make music when he started performing during his school’s speech and award-giving days when he was in Grade 4.
The signs many saw when he was just a boy became clearer when he decided to walk the path of music in 2003 after graduating from high school.
He has made active music from 2003 until now.
As a musician, he was known as Turn on when he was with the music trio, Dunsin – singers of the hit ‘Ɔyɛadeɛyie’ in 2008.
However, after he decided to go solo in 2019 and chart a new path for himself, he chose the stage name. Sparklyn.
Sparklyn as he is popularly called now, he is one of the respected people in the Ghanaian music space because of the successes he has achieved in the industry for over a decade.
He is known for being one of the best Hiplife/Hip-hop and Afrobeats artists in Ghana.
Sparklyn rocked many stages over the years. In 2008 he was one of the best interpreters of the Adom FM Themed party.
He also performed at the VGMA nominees jam on Labadi beach in 2009, he impressed the show’s customers with his spectacular performance.
Sparklyn also performed in MTN Valentine’s Show at the Kumasi Sports Stadium, the Ashaiman to Da World concert organized by stonebwoy, Saminifest which is also organized by saminiAudra of Charterhouse Carnivals, Kasapreko Festivals All over the country, The Night of Milk Vita with Kwabena Kwabena and many others.
Beyond the borders of Ghana, Sparklyn also performed in other African countries. Among them are Nigeria and South Africa.
Regarding the awards, as part of the Dunsin music group, they were nominated for the Highlife Song of the Year category at the 2009 prestigious Ghana Music Awards.
Sparklyn’s contribution to Dunsin at the time also gave them an indication in the 4syte TV Music Video Awards in 2010 for Best Group of the Year, Best Choreography of the Yearand Best plot of the year.
In 2013, when Sparklyn was still part Dunsinthe group also won international awards for Africa’s Most Exciting Group and The most African video of the year.
