Johnson Asiedu Nketia, outgoing secretary general of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), received congratulations from Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, the party’s director of elections, for his 17 years of service to the organization.

After the announcement of Mr. Asiedu Nketia that he will not run for re-election at the party congress on December 17, it happened.

“Age has a significant impact on everything.

Being secretary general takes a lot of your time and effort.

“I have thought about all this and I am convinced that I will not run for office again.

In an interview with Accra-based Radio Gold on September 21, Mr. Nketia stated, “What I’m saying is that I’m not going to run for re-election as Secretary-General.

In response, Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah issued the following statement: “I would like to extend my congratulations to the revered Johnson Asiedu Nketia for his 17 years of selfless service to our great party, the NDC.

“To be able to maintain such a delicate position for all these years, one must possess some remarkable skills.

He has led the NDC’s progress over the years, so on behalf of myself and the other party members who have worked with him over the years, I would like to thank and congratulate him for all his contributions to our illustrious organization.

We can still rely on the good God’s wisdom, direction, and storehouse of knowledge while some of us try to take their place.
